वस्त्रम आपस तिलान भूमिं गन्धॊ वासयते यथा पुष्पाणाम अधिवासेन तथा संसर्गजा गुणाः ॥ ३-१-२२ ॥
'Just as cloth, water, the ground, and sesame seeds become scented by association with flowers, so too are qualities shaped by one's associations.' ॥ 3-1-22 ॥
