तदागदाभिर्गुर्वीभिःप्रासैःखडगैःपरश्वधैः । निर्जघ्नुर्वानरान्घोरान्राक्षसाःपर्वतोपमाः ॥ ६-९४-१६
Then the mountainlike forms of Rakshasas attacked the Vanaras with heavy maces, darts, swords, and axes in frightening ways. [6-94-16]
english translation
राक्षसैर्वध्यमानानांवानराणांमहाचमूः । शरण्यंशरणंयातारामंदशरथात्मजम् ॥ ६-९४-१७
The huge army of Vanaras being struck by Rakshasas sought the protection of Rama, the son of Dasharatha who affords protection. [6-94-17]

ततोरामोमहातेजाधनुरादायवीर्यवान् । प्रविश्यराक्षसंसैन्यंशरवर्षंववर्ष ह ॥ ६-९४-१८
Then, the highly energetic and valiant Rama, taking up the bow entered the Rakshasa army and showered rain of arrows on them. [6-94-18]
english translation
प्रविष्टंतुतदारामंमेघास्सूर्यमिवाम्बरे । नाथिजग्मुर्महाघोरानिर्दहन्तंशराग्निना ॥ ६-९४-१९
Then Rama entered the army with fire like arrows which were consuming the Rakshasas like the clouds in the sky which can't approach the scorching Sun. [6-94-19]
english translation
कृतान्येवसुघोराणिरामेणरजनीचराः । ददृशुस्ते न वैरामंकर्माण्यसुकराणिते ॥ ६-९४-२०
The night rangers were able to see Rama's terrible action which was difficult for others only after he had performed not otherwise (as they could not see his quick movement). [6-94-20]
