तेनशङ्खविमिश्रेणभेरीशब्देनराघवः । उपयातिमहाबाहूरामःपरपुरञ्जयः ॥ ६-३५-१
The mighty armed Rama, the conqueror of enemy cities, Raghava marched forth with the noise of the blowing of conches and the sounds of drums. [6-35-1]

तंनिनादंनिशम्याथरावणोराक्षसेश्वरः । मुहूर्तंध्यानमास्थायसचिवानभ्युदैक्षत ॥ ६-३५-२
Ravana, the Lord of Rakshasas, looked at his ministers on hearing the sounds and reflecting for a moment. [6-35-2]

अथतान्सचिवांस्तत्रसर्वानाभाष्यरावणः । सभांसन्नादयन् सर्वामित्युवाचमहाबलः ॥ ६-३५-३
Ravana of great strength then addressed all his ministers in a voice that resounded the entire assembly hall as follows. [6-35-3]
