दूषणंचाग्रतोहत्वात्रिशिरास्तदनन्तम् । तस्तेनार्दिताबालारावणंसमुपागता ॥ ६-१२९-२१
"After killing Dushana (his brother) first, Trishira (the other brother) was killed thereafter. Then Surpanakha afflicted by Rama (the incident of destruction of Rakshasas) sought refuge with Ravana." [6-129-21]
english translation
रावणानुचरोघोरोमारीचोनामराक्षसः । लोभयामासवैदेहींभूत्वारत्नमयोमृगः ॥ ६-१२९-२२
"Ravana sent dreadful Rakshasa by name Maricha, who assumed the form of deer with precious stones (on body) created a desire for it in Vaidehi." [6-129-22]
english translation
साराममब्रवीदृष्टवावैदेहीगृह्यतामिति । अयंमनोहरःकान्तआश्रमोनोभविष्यति ॥ ६-१२९-२३
"Seeing that deer Vaidehi spoke to Rama to capture it as she desired and that it was beautiful and will make the hermitage bright." [6-129-23]
english translation
ततोरामोधनुष्पाणिर्मृगंतमनुधावति । स तंजघानधावन्तंशरेणानतपर्वणा ॥ ६-१२९-२४
"Thereupon, Rama wielding a bow in his arm, chased that deer and killed that running one, with an arrow of curved knots." [6-129-24]
english translation
अथसौम्य दशग्रीवोमृगंयातेतुराघवे । लक्ष्मणेचापिनिष्क्रान्तेप्रविवेशाश्रमंतदा ॥ ६-१२९-२५
"When gentle Raghava went after the deer and Lakshmana also went from there, the ten headed Ravana entered the hermitage." [6-129-25]
