ब्राह्म्यासम्वर्तयामासूराङ्कवास्तरणावृताम् | वर्ततेवेदविहितोराज्ञोवैपश्चिमःक्रतुः || ६-११४-११६

- and Brahmya grass were placed on the body. It was covered with the skin of antelope. The last rites of the king were carried out with vedic rites. [6-114-116]

प्रचक्रुःराक्षसेन्द्रस्यपितृमेधमनुक्रमम् | वेदिं च दक्षिणप्राच्यांयथास्थानं च पावकम् || ६-११४-११७

Then proceeding in sequence constructing an altar in the southeast and placing sacrificial fire in a proper place, they duly performed sacrificial ceremony for ancestors in honour of the ruler of Rakshasas. [6-114-117]
