स रावणायसङ्रुद्धोभृशमायम्यकार्मुकम् । चिक्षेपपरमायत्तःशरंमर्मविदारणम् ॥ ६-१११-१६
Rama, provoked by anger, stretched the bow to full length, very well prepared, released the arrow on Ravana, which was capable of tearing into the vital parts. [6-111-16]
english translation
स वज्रइवदुर्धर्षोवज्रिबाहुविसर्जितः । कृतान्तइवचावार्योन्यपतद्रावणोरसि ॥ ६-१११-१७
Like the thunderbolt hurled by the arm of Indra, difficult to obstruct, capable of bringing life to an end, that arrow released by Rama penetrated into Ravana's chest. [6-111-17]
english translation
स विसृष्टोमहावेगश्शरीरान्तकरश्शरः । चिच्छेदहृदयंतस्यरावणस्यदुरात्मनः ॥ ६-१११-१८
That arrow, released with great speed and which was capable of destroying the body, tore off the heart of that evil-minded Ravana. [6-111-18]
english translation
रुधिराक्तस्सवेगेनशरीरान्तकरःशरः । रावणस्यहरन्प्राणान्विवेशधरणीतलम् ॥ ६-१११-१९
That arrow which was capable of putting an end to the body took out Ravana's life and smeared with blood, it entered the earth. [6-111-19]
english translation
स शरोरावणंहत्वारुधिरार्द्रीकृतच्छविः । कृतकर्मानिभृतवत्स्वतूणींपुनराविशत् ॥ ६-१११-२०
That arrow of Rama, on killing Ravana, soaked in blood, having accomplished the task quietly reentered its quiver. [6-111-20]
