[लॊम] तत आयव्ययौ पूर्णौ तेषां राजा नयवेदयत अतॊ जञात्वा समादद्ध्वं यद अत्र वयतिरिच्यते ॥ ३-९६-१६ ॥
'Lomasa continued, 'The king then explained to them the balance between his income and expenditure, saying, 'With this understanding, take whatever you wish.'' ॥ 3-96-16 ॥
english translation
तत आयव्ययौ दृष्ट्वा समौ सममतिर दविजः सर्वथा पराणिनां पीडाम उपादानाद अमन्यत ॥ ३-९६-१७ ॥
'However, upon observing the balance between the king's income and expenditure, the Rishi, who viewed all matters impartially, realized that accepting anything in such circumstances would lead to harm for all living beings.' ॥ 3-96-17 ॥
english translation
ततः सर्वे समेत्याथ ते नृपास तं महामुनिम इदम ऊचुर महाराज समवेक्ष्य परस्परम ॥ ३-९६-१८ ॥
'Then, all those kings, having gathered together, after looking at each other, said this to that great sage, O great king.' ॥ 3-96-18 ॥
english translation
अयं वै दानवॊ बरह्मन्न इल्वलॊ वसुमान भुवि तम अभिक्रम्य सर्वे ऽदय वयं याचामहे वसु ॥ ३-९६-१९ ॥
'O Brahmana, there is a Danava named Ilwala who possesses immense wealth beyond all others on earth.' ॥ 3-96-19 ॥
english translation
तेषां तदासीद रुचितम इल्वलस्यॊपभिक्षणम ततस ते सहिता राजन्न इल्वलं समुपाद्रवन ॥ ३-९६-२० ॥
'They were pleased with/desired the food/feast of Ilvala, then, O King, they all together rushed towards/approached Ilvala.' ॥ 3-96-20 ॥
