तस्मै स बराह्मणॊ नादात पुत्रं वासव संमितम चुक्रॊध सॊ ऽसुरस तस्य बराह्मणस्य ततॊ भृशम ॥ ३-९४-६ ॥
'However, the Brahmana did not grant the Asura a son like Indra. In response, the Asura was filled with rage against the Brahmana.' ॥ 3-94-6 ॥
english translation
समाह्वयति यं वाचा गतं वैवस्वतक्षयम स पुनर देहम आस्थाय जीवन सम परतिदृश्यते ॥ ३-९४-७ ॥
'One who is called back by speech/words after having gone to the abode of Yama (death), that person, taking up a body again, is seen living just as before.' ॥ 3-94-7 ॥
english translation
ततॊ वातापिम असुरं छागं कृत्वा सुसंस्कृतम तं बराह्मणं भॊजयित्वा पुनर एव समाह्वयत ॥ ३-९४-८ ॥
'Endowed with the power of illusion, the enraged Asura transformed his brother into a ram. Vatapi, capable of assuming any form at will, would instantly take on the shape of a ram.' ॥ 3-94-8 ॥
english translation
तस्य पार्श्वं विनिर्भिद्य बराह्मणस्य महासुरः वातापिः परहसन राजन निश्चक्राम विशां पते ॥ ३-९४-९ ॥
'O King, O Lord of the people (viśām pate), the great demon Vātāpi, breaking through/bursting out of the side of that Brahmin, came out laughing.' ॥ 3-94-9 ॥
english translation
एवं स बराह्मणान राजन भॊजयित्वा पुनः पुनः हिंसयाम आस दैतेय इल्वलॊ दुष्टचेतनः ॥ ३-९४-१० ॥
'And so, O monarch, the wicked-hearted Daitya Ilvala, after feeding the Brahmanas, frequently took their lives.' ॥ 3-94-10 ॥
