[वय] धृतराष्ट्र महाप्राज्ञ निबॊध वचनं मम वक्ष्यामि तवा कौरवाणां सर्वेषां हितम उत्तमम ॥ ३-९-१ ॥
'Vyasa said, "O wise Dhritarashtra, listen to my words. I shall reveal what is most beneficial for all the Kauravas."' ॥ 3-9-1 ॥
english translation
न मे परियं महाबाहॊ यद गताः पाण्डवा वनम निकृत्या निर्जिताश चैव दुर्यॊधन वशानुगैः ॥ ३-९-२ ॥
'O mighty-armed one, it is displeasing to me that the Pandavas, having been deceitfully defeated at dice by Duryodhana and others, have gone to the forest.' ॥ 3-9-2 ॥
english translation
ते समरन्तः परिक्लेशान वर्षे पूर्णे तरयॊदशे विमॊक्ष्यन्ति विषं करुद्धाः करवेयेषु भारत ॥ ३-९-३ ॥
'When the thirteenth year expires, remembering all their sufferings, they may unleash devastating weapons upon the Kauravas, like a venomous poison.' ॥ 3-9-3 ॥
english translation
तद अयं किं नु पापात्मा तव पुत्रः सुमन्दधीः पाण्डवान नित्यसंक्रुद्धॊ राज्यहेतॊर जिघांसति ॥ ३-९-४ ॥
'Why does your sinful son, whose heart is always aflame with anger, seek to destroy the Pandavas for the sake of the kingdom?' ॥ 3-9-4 ॥
english translation
वार्यतां साध्व अयं मूढः शमं गच्छतु ते सुतः वनस्थांस तान अयं हन्तुम इच्छन पराणैर विमॊक्ष्यते ॥ ३-९-५ ॥
'Let him be restrained and remain calm! In his attempts to slay the Pandavas while they are in exile, he will only bring about his own ruin.' ॥ 3-9-5 ॥
