अभिवाद्य ततॊ यक्षं दवारपालम अरन्तुकम कॊटिरूपम उपस्पृश्य लभेद बहुसुवर्णकम ॥ ३-८१-१७१ ॥
'By bathing in Koti-tirtha and offering worship to the Yaksha doorkeeper, Machakruka, one gains the merit equivalent to giving away abundant gold.' ॥ 3-81-171 ॥
english translation
गङ्गा हरदश च तत्रैव तीर्थं भरतसत्तम तत्र सनातस तु धर्मज्ञ बरह्म चारी समाहितः राजसूयाश्वमेधाभ्यां फलं विन्दति शाश्वतम ॥ ३-८१-१७२ ॥
'Nearby, O best of the Bharatas, is the sacred tirtha known as Gangahrada. One who bathes there with a subdued soul, following the Brahmacharya way of life, gains merit greater than that of performing a Rajasuya or Ashvamedha sacrifice.' ॥ 3-81-172 ॥

पृथिव्यां नैमिषं पुण्यम अन्तरिक्षे च पुष्करम तरयाणाम अपि लॊकानां कुरुक्षेत्रं विशिष्यते ॥ ३-८१-१७३ ॥
'Naimisha, on Earth, is a sacred tirtha that brings great blessings. Pushkara bestows its merits in the celestial realms. Yet, Kurukshetra surpasses them both, offering merit in all three worlds.' ॥ 3-81-173 ॥

पांसवॊ ऽपि कुरुक्षेत्रे वायुना समुदीरिताः अपि दुष्कृतकर्माणं नयन्ति परमां गतिम ॥ ३-८१-१७४ ॥
'Even the dust of Kurukshetra, carried by the wind, elevates sinful beings to a state of great blessing.' ॥ 3-81-174 ॥

दक्षिणेन सरस्वत्या उत्तरेण दृषद्वतीम ये वसन्ति कुरुक्षेत्रे ते वसन्ति तरिविष्टपे ॥ ३-८१-१७५ ॥
'Those who dwell in Kurukshetra, Which is south of the Sarasvati river And north of the Drishadvati river, They dwell in heaven itself.' ॥ 3-81-175 ॥
