कुरुक्षेत्रं गमिष्यामि कुरुक्षेत्रे वसाम्य अहम अप्य एकां वाचम उत्सृज्य सर्वपापैः परमुच्यते ॥ ३-८१-१७६ ॥
'Anyone who simply says, 'I will go to Kurukshetra' or 'I will dwell in Kurukshetra' is cleansed of all sins.' ॥ 3-81-176 ॥
english translation
बरह्म वेदी कुरुक्षेत्रं पुण्यं बरह्मर्षिसेवितम तदावसन्ति ये राजन न ते शॊच्याः कथं चन ॥ ३-८१-१७७ ॥
'The sacred Kurukshetra, revered by the Brahmarshis, is considered the celestial sacrificial altar. Those who dwell there have no cause for sorrow at any time.' ॥ 3-81-177 ॥

तरन्तुकारन्तुकयॊर यद अन्तरं; रामह्रदानां च मचक्रुकस्य एतत कुरुक्षेत्रसमन्तपञ्चकं; पिता महस्यॊत्तर वेदिर उच्यते ॥ ३-८१-१७८ ॥
'Kurukshetra lies between Tarantuka and Arantuka, along with the lakes of Rama and Machakruka. It is also known as Samantapanchaka and is regarded as the northern sacrificial altar of the Grandsire.' ॥ 3-81-178 ॥
