ततॊ गच्छेन नरश्रेष्ठ तीर्थं देव्या यथाक्रमम सरस्वत्यारुणायाश च संगमं लॊकविश्रुतम ॥ ३-८१-१३१ ॥
'One should then proceed, O king, to that revered and celebrated tirtha where the Saraswati unites with the Aruna.' ॥ 3-81-131 ॥
english translation
तरिरात्रॊपॊषितः सनात्वा मुच्यते बरह्महत्यया अग्निष्टॊमातिरात्राभ्यां फलं विन्दति मानवः ॥ ३-८१-१३२ ॥
'A person who bathes there after fasting for three nights is purified even of the grave sin of slaying a Brahmana. Moreover, they attain merit greater than that of the Agnishtoma or Atiratra sacrifices.' ॥ 3-81-132 ॥
english translation
आ सप्तमं कुलं चैव पुनाति भरतर्षभ अवतीर्णं च तत्रैव तीर्थं कुरुकुलॊद्वह विप्राणाम अनुकम्पार्थं दर्भिणा निर्मितं पुरा ॥ ३-८१-१३३ ॥
'O best of the Bharatas, one purifies even up to the seventh generation by descending into that sacred place. O upholder of the Kuru dynasty, that tirtha was established long ago with darbha grass, out of compassion for the Brahmanas.' ॥ 3-81-133 ॥
english translation
वरतॊपनयनाभ्यां वा उपवासेन वा दविजः करिया मन्त्रैश च संयुक्तॊ बराह्मणः सयान न संशयः ॥ ३-८१-१३४ ॥
'By observing vows or undergoing the sacred thread ceremony, or through fasting, a twice-born (Brahmana) becomes purified when accompanied by proper rituals and mantras. There is no doubt about this.' ॥ 3-81-134 ॥
english translation
करिया मन्त्रविहीनॊ ऽपि तत्र सनात्वा नरर्षभ चीर्ण वरतॊ भवेद विप्रॊ दृष्टम एतत पुरातने ॥ ३-८१-१३५ ॥
'O best among men, it has been observed by the wise of old that even one who is devoid of rites and mantras, merely by bathing in this tirtha, becomes learned and acquires the merit of vows.' ॥ 3-81-135 ॥
