[पुलस्त्य] ततॊ गच्छेत राजेन्द्र कुरुक्षेत्रम अभिष्टुतम पापेभ्यॊ विप्रमुच्यन्ते तद्गताः सर्वजन्तवः ॥ ३-८१-१ ॥
'Pulastya said: "O King, one should then journey to the revered land of Kurukshetra, where the mere sight of it frees all creatures from their sins."' ॥ 3-81-1 ॥
english translation
कुरुक्षेत्रं गमिष्यामि कुरुक्षेत्रे वसाम्य अहम य एवं सततं बरूयात सॊ ऽपि पापैः परमुच्यते ॥ ३-८१-२ ॥
'He who constantly declares, 'I shall dwell in Kurukshetra,' is freed from all sins.' ॥ 3-81-2 ॥
english translation
अत्र मासं वसेद वीर सरस्वत्यां युधिष्ठिर यत्र बरह्मादयॊ देव ऋषयः सिद्धचारणाः ॥ ३-८१-३ ॥
'The very dust of Kurukshetra, carried by the wind, leads even a sinful man to a blessed path in the afterlife. Those who dwell in Kurukshetra, which lies between the Sarasvati to the south and the Drishadwati to the north, are said to live as if in heaven. O hero, one should reside there for a month, O foremost of warriors. There, O lord of the earth, the gods, led by Brahma, along with the Rishis, Siddhas, and Charanas, also dwell.' ॥ 3-81-3 ॥
english translation
गन्धर्वाप्सरसॊ यक्षाः पन्नगाश च महीपते बरह्म कषेत्रं महापुण्यम अभिगच्छन्ति भारत ॥ ३-८१-४ ॥
'The Gandharvas, Apsaras, Yakshas, and Nagas often journey to the highly sacred Brahmakshetra, O Bharata.' ॥ 3-81-4 ॥
english translation
मनसाप्य अभिकामस्य कुरुक्षेत्रं युधिष्ठिर पापाणि विप्रणश्यन्ति बरह्मलॊकं च गच्छति ॥ ३-८१-५ ॥
'O foremost of warriors, the sins of one who even desires, in thought alone, to visit Kurukshetra are completely destroyed, and he ultimately attains the realm of Brahma.' ॥ 3-81-5 ॥
