ततः पौरजनः सर्वॊ मन्त्रिभिः सह भारत राजानं दरष्टुम आगच्छन निवारयितुम आतुरम ॥ ३-५६-११ ॥

'And thereupon, O Bharata, the citizens, along with the chief councillors, gathered to see the troubled monarch and persuade him to desist from the game.' ॥ 3-56-11 ॥

english translation

tataH paurajanaH sarvò mantribhiH saha bhArata rAjAnaM daraSTuma Agacchana nivArayituma Aturama ॥ 3-56-11 ॥

ततः सूत उपागम्य दमयन्त्यै नयवेदयत एष पौरजनः सर्वॊ दवारि तिष्ठति कार्यवान ॥ ३-५६-१२ ॥

'And the charioteer approached Damayanti and said, 'O lady, the citizens and officials are waiting at the gate.'' ॥ 3-56-12 ॥

tataH sUta upAgamya damayantyai nayavedayata eSa paurajanaH sarvò davAri tiSThati kAryavAna ॥ 3-56-12 ॥

निवेद्यतां नैषधाय सर्वाः परकृतयः सथिताः अमृष्यमाणा वयसनं राज्ञॊ धर्मार्थदर्शिनः ॥ ३-५६-१३ ॥

'Inform the king of the Nishadhas that the citizens have gathered here, unable to endure the calamity that has befallen their virtuous and prosperous ruler.' ॥ 3-56-13 ॥

'Thereupon, Bhima's daughter, overwhelmed with grief and nearly beside herself, spoke to Nala in choked tones.' ॥ 3-56-14 ॥

राजन पौरजनॊ दवारि तवां दिदृक्षुर अवस्थितः मन्त्रिभिः सहितः सर्वै राजभक्तिपुरस्कृतः तं दरष्टुम अर्हसीत्य एव पुनः पुनर अभाषत ॥ ३-५६-१५ ॥

'O king, the citizens, along with the councillors, loyal to you, are waiting at the gate, eager to see you. She repeated this again and again, urging him to meet them.' ॥ 3-56-15 ॥

rAjana paurajanò davAri tavAM didRkSura avasthitaH mantribhiH sahitaH sarvai rAjabhaktipuraskRtaH taM daraSTuma arhasItya eva punaH punara abhASata ॥ 3-56-15 ॥
