[वि] तरिगर्तॊ ऽयं धर्ममूलॊ नरेन्द्र; राज्यं चेदं धर्ममूलं वदन्ति धर्मे राजन वर्तमानः सवशक्त्या; पुत्रान सर्वान पाहि कुन्तीसुतांश च ॥ ३-५-४ ॥

sanskrit

'Vidura said: "O King, the three-fold aims of life—profit, pleasure, and salvation—are all founded on virtue. The sages also declare that a kingdom is established on the basis of virtue. Therefore, to the best of your ability, nurture your sons and the sons of Pandu with righteousness."' ॥ 3-5-4 ॥

[vi] tarigartò 'yaM dharmamUlò narendra; rAjyaM cedaM dharmamUlaM vadanti dharme rAjana vartamAnaH savazaktyA; putrAna sarvAna pAhi kuntIsutAMza ca ॥ 3-5-4 ॥
