सुमुहूर्तं महद युद्धम आसीत तल लॊमहर्षणम भुजप्रहार संयुक्तं वृत्रवासवयॊर इव ॥ ३-४०-४६ ॥
'As a result of the fierce exchange of blows between the son of Pandu and the Kirata, loud and fearsome sounds erupted in that place. This terrible clash, reminiscent of the ancient battle between Vritra and Indra, lasted only for a brief moment.' ॥ 3-40-46 ॥
