जिह्वां दत्त्वा बहूनां हि कषुद्राणां लुब्ध चेतसाम निकृत्या लभते राज्यम आहारम इव शल्यकः ॥ ३-३४-५७ ॥
'Just as a fowler captures small, easily tempted birds by offering them attractive food, a wise leader secures a kingdom by providing bribes to those who are lowly and covetous.' ॥ 3-34-57 ॥
