सर्वथा धर्मनित्यं तु पुरुषं धर्मदुर्बलम जहतस तात धर्मार्थौ परेतं दुःखसुखे यथा ॥ ३-३४-२२ ॥
'Virtue can sometimes be the weakness of men. Even if such a man is constantly devoted to righteousness, both virtue and profit abandon him, just as pleasure and pain leave a person who is dead.' ॥ 3-34-22 ॥
