अतिवादान मदाच चैव मा धर्मम अतिशङ्किथाः धर्मातिशङ्की पुरुषस तिर्यग्गतिपरायणः ॥ ३-३२-६ ॥

'One with a sinful heart who, after performing a virtuous act, harbors doubts in his mind, will not reap the fruits of his actions due to that skepticism. I speak to you with the authority of the Vedas, which are the highest proof in such matters: never should you doubt virtue. A person who doubts virtue is destined to be reborn in the lower species.' ॥ 3-32-6 ॥

ativAdAna madAca caiva mA dharmama atizaGkithAH dharmAtizaGkI puruSasa tiryaggatiparAyaNaH ॥ 3-32-6 ॥

धर्मॊ यस्यातिशङ्क्यः सयाद आर्षं वा दुर्बलात्मनः वेदाच छूद्र इवापेयात स लॊकाद अजरामरात ॥ ३-३२-७ ॥

'A man of weak understanding, who doubts righteousness, virtue, or the words of the sages, is barred from the realms of immortality and bliss, just as a Shudra is excluded from the Vedas.' ॥ 3-32-7 ॥

dharmò yasyAtizaGkyaH sayAda ArSaM vA durbalAtmanaH vedAca chUdra ivApeyAta sa lòkAda ajarAmarAta ॥ 3-32-7 ॥

वेदाध्यायी धर्मपरः कुले जातॊ यशस्विनि सथविरेषु स यॊक्तव्यॊ राजभिर धर्मचारिभिः ॥ ३-३२-८ ॥

'O wise one, if a child born of a noble lineage studies the Vedas and conducts himself righteously, virtuous kings hold him in esteem, regarding him as a sage of great wisdom, regardless of his age.' ॥ 3-32-8 ॥

vedAdhyAyI dharmaparaH kule jAtò yazasvini sathavireSu sa yòktavyò rAjabhira dharmacAribhiH ॥ 3-32-8 ॥

पापीयान हि स शूद्रेभ्यस तस्करेब्भ्यॊ विशेषतः शास्त्रातिगॊ मन्दबुद्धिर यॊ धर्मम अतिशङ्कते ॥ ३-३२-९ ॥

'The wretched sinner who doubts righteousness and violates the scriptures is considered lower than even Shudras and thieves.' ॥ 3-32-9 ॥

pApIyAna hi sa zUdrebhyasa taskarebbhyò vizeSataH zAstrAtigò mandabuddhira yò dharmama atizaGkate ॥ 3-32-9 ॥

परत्यक्षं हि तवया दृष्ट ऋषिर गच्छन महातपाः मार्कण्डेयॊ ऽपरमेयात्मा धर्मेण चिरजीविताम ॥ ३-३२-१० ॥

'With your own eyes, you have seen the great ascetic Markandeya, of boundless soul, come to us. It is through righteousness alone that he has attained immortality in the flesh.' ॥ 3-32-10 ॥

paratyakSaM hi tavayA dRSTa RSira gacchana mahAtapAH mArkaNDeyò 'parameyAtmA dharmeNa cirajIvitAma ॥ 3-32-10 ॥
