न धर्मफलम आप्नॊति यॊ धर्मं दॊग्धुम इच्छति यश चैनं शङ्कते कृत्वा नास्तिक्यात पापचेतनः ।। ३-३२-५ ।।

sanskrit

'The person who seeks to gain rewards from virtue is merely a merchant of virtue. Such a person is of a low nature and should not be considered truly virtuous. Moreover, they will never attain the true fruits of their virtue.' ।। 3-32-5 ।।

english translation

na dharmaphalama Apnòti yò dharmaM dògdhuma icchati yaza cainaM zaGkate kRtvA nAstikyAta pApacetanaH || 3-32-5 ||
