कषमा धर्मः कषमा यज्ञः कषमा वेदाः कषमा शरुतम यस ताम एवं विजानाति स सर्वं कषन्तुम अर्हति ॥ ३-३०-३६ ॥

'Forgiveness is virtue, sacrifice, the essence of the Vedas, and the core of the Shruti. He who understands this is capable of forgiving all.' ॥ 3-30-36 ॥

english translation

kaSamA dharmaH kaSamA yajJaH kaSamA vedAH kaSamA zarutama yasa tAma evaM vijAnAti sa sarvaM kaSantuma arhati ॥ 3-30-36 ॥

कषमा बरह्म कषमा सत्यं कषमा भूतं च भावि च कषमा तपः कषमा शौचं कषमया चॊद्धृतं जगत ॥ ३-३०-३७ ॥

'Forgiveness is Brahma; forgiveness is truth; forgiveness is the repository of ascetic merit; forgiveness preserves future ascetic merit; forgiveness is asceticism; forgiveness is purity; and it is through forgiveness that the universe is upheld.' ॥ 3-30-37 ॥

kaSamA barahma kaSamA satyaM kaSamA bhUtaM ca bhAvi ca kaSamA tapaH kaSamA zaucaM kaSamayA còddhRtaM jagata ॥ 3-30-37 ॥

अति बरह्मविदां लॊकान अति चापि तपस्विनाम अति यज्ञविदां चैव कषमिणः पराप्नुवन्ति तान ॥ ३-३०-३८ ॥

'Forgiving individuals reach the same exalted realms as those who have made great sacrifices, mastered the Vedas, or achieved significant ascetic merit.' ॥ 3-30-38 ॥

ati barahmavidAM lòkAna ati cApi tapasvinAma ati yajJavidAM caiva kaSamiNaH parApnuvanti tAna ॥ 3-30-38 ॥

कषमा तेजस्विनां तेजः कषमा बरह्म तपस्विनाम कषमा सत्यं सत्यवतां कषमा दानं कषमायशः ॥ ३-३०-३९ ॥

'Forgiveness is the power of the powerful, forgiveness is the spiritual practice of the ascetics, Forgiveness is the truth of the truthful, forgiveness is charity, forgiveness is fame.' ॥ 3-30-39 ॥

kaSamA tejasvinAM tejaH kaSamA barahma tapasvinAma kaSamA satyaM satyavatAM kaSamA dAnaM kaSamAyazaH ॥ 3-30-39 ॥

तां कषमाम ईदृशीं कृष्णे कथम अस्मद्विधस तयजेत यस्यां बरह्म च सत्यं च यज्ञा लॊकाश च विष्ठिताः भुज्यन्ते यज्वनां लॊकाः कषमिणाम अपरे तथा ॥ ३-३०-४० ॥

'How can one like me, O Krishna, abandon such forgiveness, In which Brahman, truth, sacrifices, and worlds are established? The worlds of the sacrificers are enjoyed, and likewise those of the forgiving.' ॥ 3-30-40 ॥

english translation

tAM kaSamAma IdRzIM kRSNe kathama asmadvidhasa tayajeta yasyAM barahma ca satyaM ca yajJA lòkAza ca viSThitAH bhujyante yajvanAM lòkAH kaSamiNAma apare tathA ॥ 3-30-40 ॥
