हुताशनेन यच चापः परविश्य छन्नम आसता विबुधानां कृतं कर्म तच च सर्वं शरुतं तवया ॥ ३-२९९-१६ ॥
'And, O sinless one, thou hast also heard how the noble Rishi Aurva, remaining hidden in his mother’s womb, once fulfilled a divine task for the gods.' ॥ 3-299-16 ॥
english translation
hutAzanena yaca cApaH paravizya channama AsatA vibudhAnAM kRtaM karma taca ca sarvaM zarutaM tavayA ॥ 3-299-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं विवस्वता तात छन्नेनॊत्तम तेजसा निर्दग्धाः शत्रवः सर्वे वसता भुवि सर्वशः ॥ ३-२९९-१७ ॥
'And O child, while dwelling in concealment throughout the earth, Vivasvat, possessed of supreme brilliance, at last consumed all his enemies entirely.' ॥ 3-299-17 ॥
english translation
evaM vivasvatA tAta channenòttama tejasA nirdagdhAH zatravaH sarve vasatA bhuvi sarvazaH ॥ 3-299-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविष्णुना वसता चापि गृहे दशरथस्य वै दशग्रीवॊ हतश छन्नं संयुगे भीमकर्मणा ॥ ३-२९९-१८ ॥
'And Vishnu too, while living in disguise in the abode of King Dasaratha, accomplished dreadful deeds and slew the Ten-necked Ravana in battle.' ॥ 3-299-18 ॥

viSNunA vasatA cApi gRhe dazarathasya vai dazagrIvò hataza channaM saMyuge bhImakarmaNA ॥ 3-299-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवम एते महात्मानः परच्छन्नास तत्र तत्र ह अजयच छात्रवान युद्धे तथा तवम अपि जेष्यसि ॥ ३-२९९-१९ ॥
'Thus, having remained in disguise in various places, the high-souled have in times past conquered their foes in battle.' ॥ 3-299-19 ॥

evama ete mahAtmAnaH paracchannAsa tatra tatra ha ajayaca chAtravAna yuddhe tathA tavama api jeSyasi ॥ 3-299-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथा दौम्येन धर्मज्ञॊ वाक्यैः संपरितॊषितः शास्त्रबुद्ध्या सवबुद्ध्या च न चचाल युधिष्ठिरः ॥ ३-२९९-२० ॥
'Encouraged by these words of Dhaumya, the virtuous Yudhishthira, drawing strength from both his own wisdom and the sacred scriptures, regained his composure.' ॥ 3-299-20 ॥
