[वै] ततॊ गर्भः समभवत पृथायाः पृथिवीपते शुक्ले दशॊत्तरे पक्षे तारापतिर इवाम्बरे ।। ३-२९२-१ ।।

'Vaiśampayana said: "Then, O lord of the earth, on the tenth day of the bright fortnight, Pṛthā conceived a son—like the lord of the stars appearing radiant in the sky."' ।। 3-292-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] tatò garbhaH samabhavata pRthAyAH pRthivIpate zukle dazòttare pakSe tArApatira ivAmbare || 3-292-1 ||

सा बान्धवभयाद बाला तं गर्भं विनिगूहति धारयाम आस सुश्रॊणी न चैनां बुबुधे जनः ।। ३-२९२-२ ।।

'And that fair-hipped maiden, out of fear of her kin, concealed her conception so that none came to know of her condition.' ।। 3-292-2 ।।

english translation

sA bAndhavabhayAda bAlA taM garbhaM vinigUhati dhArayAma Asa suzròNI na cainAM bubudhe janaH || 3-292-2 ||

न हि तां वेद नर्य अन्या का चिद धात्रेयिकाम ऋते कन्या पुरगतां बालां निपुणां परिरक्षणे ।। ३-२९२-३ ।।

'Living secluded within the maiden’s quarters, the damsel carefully concealed her condition, and none but her faithful nurse knew the truth.' ।। 3-292-3 ।।

english translation

na hi tAM veda narya anyA kA cida dhAtreyikAma Rte kanyA puragatAM bAlAM nipuNAM parirakSaNe || 3-292-3 ||

ततः कालेन सा गर्भं सुषुवे वरवर्णिनी कन्यैव तस्य देवस्य परसादाद अमरप्रभम ।। ३-२९२-४ ।।

'In due time, by divine grace, that beautiful maiden gave birth to a son resembling a god. Like his father, the child was clad in celestial armor and adorned with radiant earrings.' ।। 3-292-4 ।।

tataH kAlena sA garbhaM suSuve varavarNinI kanyaiva tasya devasya parasAdAda amaraprabhama || 3-292-4 ||

तथैव बद्धकवचं कनकॊज्ज्वल कुण्डलम हर्यक्षं वृषभस्कन्धं यथास्य पितरं तथा ।। ३-२९२-५ ।।

'Like his father before him, he wore gleaming armor and radiant golden earrings, his green eyes flashing above his powerful, bull-like shoulders.' ।। 3-292-5 ।।

tathaiva baddhakavacaM kanakòjjvala kuNDalama haryakSaM vRSabhaskandhaM yathAsya pitaraM tathA || 3-292-5 ||
