दवादशे समतिक्रान्ते वर्षे पराप्ते तरयॊदशे पाण्डूनां हितकृच छक्रः कर्णं भिक्षितुम उद्यतः ॥ ३-२८४-५ ॥

sanskrit

'When the twelve years had elapsed and the thirteenth commenced, Indra, ever devoted to the cause of the Pāṇḍavas, set forth to seek alms from Karna—his purpose: the celestial earrings.' ॥ 3-284-5 ॥

english translation

davAdaze samatikrAnte varSe parApte tarayòdaze pANDUnAM hitakRca chakraH karNaM bhikSituma udyataH ॥ 3-284-5 ॥
