ततॊ ऽभिसृत्य तैर विप्रैः सर्वैर आश्रमवासिभिः परिवार्य समाश्वास्य समानीतौ सवम आश्रमम ॥ ३-२८२-६ ॥
'Then all the Brahmanas dwelling in that hermitage came to them, and surrounding them on all sides, consoled them and gently led them back to their own hermitage.' ॥ 3-282-6 ॥

तत्र भार्या सहायः स वृतॊ वृद्धैर तपॊधनैः आश्वासितॊ विचित्रार्थैः पूर्वराज्ञां कथाश्रयैः ॥ ३-२८२-७ ॥
'There, Dyumatsena, with his wife beside him, was surrounded by aged ascetics and comforted with tales of ancient kings.' ॥ 3-282-7 ॥

ततस तौ पुनर आश्वस्तौ वृद्धौ पुत्र दिदृक्षया बाल्ये वृत्तानि पुत्रस्य समरन्तौ भृशदुःखितौ ॥ ३-२८२-८ ॥
'Yet, though the old couple found some solace, their longing for their son remained, and recalling the days of his youth, they were once more overwhelmed with sorrow.' ॥ 3-282-8 ॥

पुनर उक्त्वा च करुणां वाचं तौ शॊककर्शितौ हा पुत्र हा साध्वि वधूः कवासि कवासीत्य अरॊदताम ॥ ३-२८२-९ ॥
'Overwhelmed by sorrow, the aged pair wept aloud, lamenting, 'Alas, our son! Alas, virtuous daughter-in-law! Where are you now?'' ॥ 3-282-9 ॥

[सुवर्चस] यथास्य भार्या सावित्री तपसा च दमेन च आचारेण च संयुक्ता तथा जीवति सत्यवान ॥ ३-२८२-१० ॥
'Then a truthful Brahmana named Suvarchas spoke to them, saying, 'Given the austerities, self-restraint, and noble conduct of Savitri, there can be no doubt—Satyavan still lives!'' ॥ 3-282-10 ॥
