न कदा चिद विकाले हि गतपूर्वॊ मयाश्रमः अनागतायां संध्यायां माता मे पररुणद्धि माम ॥ ३-२८१-८१ ॥
'Never before have I returned to the hermitage after the proper time had passed. Even before twilight, my mother confines me within the sanctuary.' ॥ 3-281-81 ॥
english translation
दिवापि मयि निष्क्रान्ते संतप्येते गुरू मम विचिनॊति च मां तातः सहैवाश्रमवासिभिः ॥ ३-२८१-८२ ॥
'Even when I step outside during the day, my parents grow anxious on my behalf, and my father, along with all the hermitage dwellers, searches for me.' ॥ 3-281-82 ॥
english translation
मात्रा पित्रा च सुभृशं दुःखिताभ्याम अहं पुरा उपालब्धः सुबहुशश चिरेणागच्छसीति ह ॥ ३-२८१-८३ ॥
'Before this, deeply grieved, my father and mother had rebuked me many times, saying, “You come after a long delay!”' ॥ 3-281-83 ॥
english translation
का तव अवस्था तयॊर अद्य मदर्थम इति चिन्तये तयॊर अदृश्ये मयि च महद दुःखं भविष्यति ॥ ३-२८१-८४ ॥
'I am mindful of the suffering they now endure on my account, for surely, great sorrow will be theirs if I am lost to them.' ॥ 3-281-84 ॥
english translation
पुरा माम ऊचतुश चैव रात्राव अस्रायमाणकौ भृशं सुदुःखितौ वृद्धौ बहुशः परीतिसंयुतौ ॥ ३-२८१-८५ ॥
'One night before this, the elderly couple, who love me deeply, wept with profound sorrow and spoke to me.' ॥ 3-281-85 ॥
