[साविती] अस्मिन्न अद्य वने दग्धे शुष्कवृक्षः सथितॊ जवलन वायुना धम्यमानॊ ऽगनिर दृश्यते ऽतर कव चित कव चित ॥ ३-२८१-७६ ॥
'Then Savitri replied, "Because of a fire that broke out in the forest today, a withered tree stands aflame, and the flames, fanned by the wind, flicker now and then."' ॥ 3-281-76 ॥
english translation
ततॊ ऽगनिम आनयित्वेह जवालयिष्यामि सर्वतः काष्ठानीमानि सन्तीह जहि संतापम आत्मनः ॥ ३-२८१-७७ ॥
'Then, having brought fire here, I will kindle flames all around. These pieces of wood are here - cast off the anguish of your soul.' ॥ 3-281-77 ॥
english translation
यदि नॊत्सहसे गन्तुं सरुजं तवाभिलक्षये न च जञास्यसि पन्थानं तमसा संवृते वने ॥ ३-२८१-७८ ॥
'If you are unwilling to go, I will take care of everything, for I see you are unwell. Moreover, you will not be able to find the way through this forest, shrouded in darkness.' ॥ 3-281-78 ॥
english translation
शवःप्रभाते वने दृश्ये यास्यावॊ ऽनुमते तव वसावेह कषपाम एतां रुचितं यदि ते ऽनघ ॥ ३-२८१-७९ ॥
'Tomorrow, when the forest becomes visible at dawn, we will depart, if it pleases you. And, O sinless one, if you so wish, we may spend the night right here.' ॥ 3-281-79 ॥
english translation
[सत्यवान] शिरॊ रुजा निवृत्ता मे सवस्थान्य अङ्गानि लक्षये माता पितृभ्याम इच्छामि संगमं तवत्प्रसादजम ॥ ३-२८१-८० ॥
'At these words, Satyavan replied, "The pain in my head has ceased, and all my limbs feel well. By your grace, I wish to see my father and mother."' ॥ 3-281-80 ॥
