न हि ते विक्रमे तुल्यः साक्षाद अपि शतक्रतुः असकृद धि तवया सेन्द्रास तरासितास तरिदशा युधि ॥ ३-२७३-३१ ॥
'Indeed, not even Indra, lord of a hundred sacrifices, matches your prowess! Time and again, you have struck fear into the very gods, even with Indra at their head, in battle!' ॥ 3-273-31 ॥

एवं बहुविधैर वाक्यैर अविन्ध्यॊ रावणं तदा करुद्धं संशमयाम आस जगृहे च स तद वचः ॥ ३-२७३-३२ ॥
'With these and many other words, Avindhya succeeded in calming Ravana’s wrath, And the king heeded his counsel.' ॥ 3-273-32 ॥

निर्याणे स मतिं कृत्वा निधायासिं कषपाचरः आज्ञापयाम आस तदा रथॊ मे कल्प्यताम इति ॥ ३-२७३-३३ ॥
'Then, that night-roaming Rakshasa, resolved to fight in person, Sheathed his sword and ordered his chariot to be prepared.' ॥ 3-273-33 ॥
