स रामम उद्दिश्य शरैस ततॊ दत्तवरैस तदा विव्याध सर्वगात्रेषु लक्ष्मणं च महारथम ॥ ३-२७२-२१ ॥
'Indrajit, with arrows granted as boons by the gods, began to pierce both Rama and the mighty Lakshmana in every part of their bodies.' ॥ 3-272-21 ॥
english translation
तम अदृश्यं शरैः शूरौ माययान्तर्हितं तदा यॊधयाम आसतुर उभौ रावणिं रामलक्ष्मणौ ॥ ३-२७२-२२ ॥
'Then the heroic Rama and Lakshmana, despite Indrajit making himself invisible through his powers of illusion, continued to contend with their arrows against him.' ॥ 3-272-22 ॥

स रुषा सर्वगात्रेषु तयॊः पुरुषसिंहयॊः वयसृजत सायकान भूयॊ शतशॊ ऽथ सहस्रशः ॥ ३-२७२-२३ ॥
'But Indrajit, in his fury, continued to shower his sharp-edged arrows in the hundreds and thousands upon those two lions among men.' ॥ 3-272-23 ॥

तम अदृश्यं विचिन्वन्तः सृजन्तम अनिशं शरान हरयॊ विविशुर वयॊम परहृह्य महतीः शिलाः ॥ ३-२७२-२४ ॥
'Meanwhile, seeking the invisible warrior who was relentlessly firing his arrows, the monkeys, armed with massive stones, searched every part of the sky. ॥ 3-272-24 ॥

तांश च तौ चाप्य अदृश्यः स शरैर विव्याध राक्षसः स भृशं ताडयन वीरॊ रावणिर मायया वृतः ॥ ३-२७२-२५ ॥
'The invisible Rakshasa, using his powers of illusion, began to afflict both the two brothers and the monkey host with his arrows. Concealing himself, the son of Ravana furiously attacked the monkeys.' ॥ 3-272-25 ॥
