पुरद्वारेषु सर्वेषु गुल्माः सथावरजङ्गमाः बभूवुः पत्तिबहुलाः परभूतगजवाजिनः ॥ ३-२६८-६ ॥
'At each of the city's gates, both stationary and mobile encampments were set up, manned by large numbers of infantry and supported by countless elephants and horses.' ॥ 3-268-6 ॥

puradvAreSu sarveSu gulmAH sathAvarajaGgamAH babhUvuH pattibahulAH parabhUtagajavAjinaH ॥ 3-268-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअङ्गदस तव अथ लङ्काया दवारदेशम उपागतः विदितॊ राक्षसेन्द्रस्य परविवेश गतव्यथः ॥ ३-२६८-७ ॥
'And Angada, upon reaching one of the gates of the city, was recognized by the Rakshasas. Without suspicion or fear, he entered the town.' ॥ 3-268-7 ॥

aGgadasa tava atha laGkAyA davAradezama upAgataH viditò rAkSasendrasya paraviveza gatavyathaH ॥ 3-268-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमध्ये राक्षस कॊटीनां बह्वीनां सुमहाबलः शुशुभे मेघमालाभिर आदित्य इव संवृतः ॥ ३-२६८-८ ॥
'Surrounded by countless Rakshasas, that hero, in his grandeur, resembled the Sun shining through a mass of clouds.' ॥ 3-268-8 ॥

madhye rAkSasa kòTInAM bahvInAM sumahAbalaH zuzubhe meghamAlAbhira Aditya iva saMvRtaH ॥ 3-268-8 ॥

'And, approaching the hero of Pulastya's race amidst his counsellors, the eloquent Angada saluted the king and began to deliver Rama's message with the following words:' ॥ 3-268-9 ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptआह तवां राघवॊ राजन कॊसलेन्द्रॊ महायशाः पराप्तकालम इदं वाक्यं तद आदत्स्व कुरुष्व च ॥ ३-२६८-१० ॥
'That descendant of Raghu, O King, who rules in Kosala and whose fame is known throughout the world, sends you these words, fitting for the occasion. Accept the message and act accordingly!' ॥ 3-268-10 ॥
