[मार्क] ततस तां भर्तृशॊकार्तां दीनां मलिनवाससम मणिशेषाभ्यलंकारां रुदतीं च पतिव्रताम ॥ ३-२६५-१ ॥

'Markandeya said, "While the chaste Sita, consumed by sorrow and grief over her lord, was dwelling there, dressed in humble attire with only a single ornament—the marital thread on her wrist—she sat weeping incessantly on a stone."' ॥ 3-265-1 ॥
