शुश्राव तस्य वैदेही ततस तां करुणां गिरम सा पराद्रवद यतः शब्दस ताम उवाचाथ लक्ष्मणः ॥ ३-२६२-२३ ॥

sanskrit

'Hearing that distressing call, the princess of Videha, overcome with fear, implored Lakṣmaṇa to rush toward the direction of the cry. Then Lakṣmaṇa stopped her and spoke to her.' ।। 3-262-23 ।।

english translation

zuzrAva tasya vaidehI tatasa tAM karuNAM girama sA parAdravada yataH zabdasa tAma uvAcAtha lakSmaNaH ॥ 3-262-23 ॥
