तासां स भगवांस तुष्टॊ महात्मा परददौ वरान लॊकपालॊपमान पुत्रान एकैकस्या यथेप्सितान ॥ ३-२५९-६ ॥
'Pleased with their devotion, the exalted sage granted them boons, bestowing upon each princely sons according to their desires.' ॥ 3-259-6 ॥
english translation
पुष्पॊत्कटायां जज्ञाते दवौ पुत्रौ राक्षसेश्वरौ कुम्भकर्ण दशग्रीवौ बलेनाप्रतिमौ भुवि ॥ ३-२५९-७ ॥
'To Puṣpotkaṭā were born two mighty sons—Kumbhakarṇa and the ten-headed Rāvaṇa— both peerless in strength and valor upon the earth.' ॥ 3-259-7 ॥
english translation
मालिनी जनयाम आस पुत्रम एकं विभीषणम राकायां मिथुनं जज्ञे खरः शूर्पणखा तथा ॥ ३-२५९-८ ॥
'And Mālinī bore a son named Vibhīṣaṇa, while Rākā gave birth to twins—Khara and Śūrpaṇakhā.' ॥ 3-259-8 ॥
english translation
विभीषणस तु रूपेण सर्वेभ्यॊ ऽभयधिकॊ ऽभवत स बभूव महाभागॊ धर्मगॊप्ता करिया रतिः ॥ ३-२५९-९ ॥
'And Vibhīṣaṇa surpassed them all in beauty. That noble soul was deeply devoted to righteousness and diligently observed all sacred rites.' ॥ 3-259-9 ॥

दशग्रीवस तु सर्वेषां जयेष्ठॊ राक्षसपुंगवः महॊत्साहॊ महावीर्यॊ महासत्त्वपराक्रमः ॥ ३-२५९-१० ॥
'But that foremost of Rākṣasas, the ten-headed one, was the eldest among them all. He was powerful, full of energy, and unmatched in strength and valor.' ॥ 3-259-10 ॥
