दुर्यॊधनश च कर्णश च शकुनिश चापि सौबलः गन्धर्वान यॊधयां चक्रुः समरे भृशविक्षताः ॥ ३-२३०-२६ ॥
'Indeed, Duryodhana, Karna, and Shakuni, the son of Suvala, fought with the Gandharvas, though each of them was severely wounded and mangled in the encounter.' ॥ 3-230-26 ॥
english translation
सर्व एव तु गन्धर्वाः शतशॊ ऽथ सहस्रशः जिघांसमानाः सहिताः कर्णम अभ्यद्रवन रणे ॥ ३-२३०-२७ ॥
'All the Gandharvas, eager to slay Karna, rushed together in their hundreds and thousands towards him.' ॥ 3-230-27 ॥

असिभिः पट्टिशैः शूलैर गदाभिश च महाबलाः सूतपुत्रं जिघांसन्तः समन्तात पर्यवारयन ॥ ३-२३०-२८ ॥
'These mighty warriors, intent on killing the son of the Suta, surrounded him on all sides, armed with swords, battle-axes, and spears.' ॥ 3-230-28 ॥

अन्ये ऽसय युगमच छिन्दन धवजम अन्ये नयपातयन ईषाम अन्ये हयान अन्ये सूतम अन्ये नयपातयन ॥ ३-२३०-२९ ॥
'And some cut down the yoke of his chariot, some the flagstaff, others the shaft of his chariot, some his horses, and still others his charioteer.' ॥ 3-230-29 ॥

अन्ये छत्रं वरूथं च वन्धुरं च तथापरे गन्धर्वा बहुसाहस्राः खण्डशॊ ऽभयहनन रथम ॥ ३-२३०-३० ॥
'And some cut down his umbrella, others the wooden fender around his chariot, and still others the joints of his chariot. Thus, many thousands of Gandharvas, attacking his chariot together, broke it into countless fragments.' ॥ 3-230-30 ॥
