अष्टौ रथसहस्राणि तरीणि नागायुतानि च पत्तयॊ बहुसाहस्रा हयाश च नवतिः शताः ॥ ३-२२८-२६ ॥
'Eight thousand chariots, three thousand elephants, countless horses, and ninety thousand foot soldiers accompanied him.' ॥ 3-228-26 ॥
english translation
शकटापण वेश्याश च वणिजॊ बन्दिनस तथा नराश च मृगया शीलाः शतशॊ ऽथ सहस्रशः ॥ ३-२२८-२७ ॥
'Carriers of carts, courtesans, merchants, and bondmen, as well as countless men and hunters, numbering in the hundreds and thousands.' ॥ 3-228-27 ॥

ततः परयाणे नृपतेः सुमहान अभवत सवनः परावृषीव महावायॊर उद्धतस्य विशां पते ॥ ३-२२८-२८ ॥
'As the king departed, followed by a large assembly, the uproar that arose was like the deep tumult of raging winds in the rainy season, O king.' ॥ 3-228-28 ॥

गव्यूति मात्रे नयवसद राजा दुर्यॊधनस तदा परयातॊ वाहनैः सर्वैस ततॊ दवैतवनं सरः ॥ ३-२२८-२९ ॥
'Upon reaching the lake Dwaitavana with all his followers and vehicles, King Duryodhana set up his camp four miles away from it.' ॥ 3-228-29 ॥
