रुद्रं सत कर्मभिर मर्त्याः पूजयन्तीह दैवतम शिवम इत्य एव यं पराहुर ईशं रुद्रं पिनाकिनम भावैस तु विविधाकारैः पूजयन्ति महेश्वरम ॥ ३-२२१-२४ ॥
'Mortals worship the god Rudra through virtuous actions, offering their devotion. He is also known as Shiva, the all-powerful lord, armed with the Pinaka bow, and is revered as Maheshvara. He is worshipped in many different forms.' ॥ 3-221-24 ॥
