तत सकन्नं तेजसा तत्र संभृतं जनयत सुतम ऋषिभिः पूजितं सकन्नम अनयत सकन्दतां ततः ॥ ३-२१४-१६ ॥
'And when thrown there, it produced a male child endowed with great power. Because it was regarded by the Rishis as cast off, the child born from it came to be known by the name of Skanda.' ॥ 3-214-16 ॥
english translation
षट्शिरा दविगुणश्रॊत्रॊ दवादशाक्षि भुजक्रमः एकग्रीपस तव एककायः कुमारः समपद्यत ॥ ३-२१४-१७ ॥
'The child had six faces, twelve ears, as many eyes, hands, and feet, one neck, and one stomach.' ॥ 3-214-17 ॥

दवितीयायाम अभिव्यक्तस तृतीयायां शिशुर बभौ अङ्गप्रत्यङ्ग संभूतश चतुर्थ्याम अभवद गुहः ॥ ३-२१४-१८ ॥
'On the second lunar day, it first assumed a form, and by the third day, it grew to the size of a small child. On the fourth day, the limbs of Guha (Skanda) were fully developed.' ॥ 3-214-18 ॥

लॊहिताभ्रेण महता संवृतः सह विद्युता लॊहिताभ्रे सुमहति भाति सूर्य इवॊदितः ॥ ३-२१४-१९ ॥
'Surrounded by masses of red clouds flashing with lightning, it shone like the Sun rising amidst a sea of red clouds.' ॥ 3-214-19 ॥

गृहीतं तु धनुस तेन विपुलं लॊमहर्षणम नयस्तं यत तरिपुरघ्नेन सुरारिविनिकृन्तनम ॥ ३-२१४-२० ॥
'Seizing the enormous and formidable bow, which had been wielded by Tripuraghna, the destroyer of the Asura Tripura, for the annihilation of the enemies of the gods.' ॥ 3-214-20 ॥
