देवासुराः पुरा यत्ता विनिघ्नन्तः परस्परम तत्राजयन सदा देवान दानवा घॊररूपिणः ।। ३-२१३-३ ।।

sanskrit

'In ancient times, the gods and Asuras were relentlessly engaged in their struggle to annihilate one another, and the fearsome Asuras consistently triumphed over the gods.' ।। 3-213-3 ।।

english translation

devAsurAH purA yattA vinighnantaH parasparama tatrAjayana sadA devAna dAnavA ghòrarUpiNaH || 3-213-3 ||
