देवान इष्ट्वा तपस तप्त्वा कृपणैः पुत्रगृद्धिभिः दश मासधृता गर्भे जायन्ते कुलपांसनाः ।। ३-२००-१२ ।।

sanskrit

'There are some who attain prosperity effortlessly, while others, despite their utmost exertion, fail to achieve their goals. Miserly individuals, in the hope of having sons, worship the gods and practice severe austerities. However, the sons born after ten months in the womb turn out to be infamous, bringing disgrace to their lineage.' ।। 3-200-12 ।।

devAna iSTvA tapasa taptvA kRpaNaiH putragRddhibhiH daza mAsadhRtA garbhe jAyante kulapAMsanAH || 3-200-12 ||
