नैव यज्ञः सत्रियः कश चिन न शराद्धं नॊपवासकम या तु भर्तरि शुश्रूषा तया सवर्गम उपाश्नुते ॥ ३-१९६-२० ॥
'As for women, neither sacrifices, nor sraddhas, nor fasts are of any efficacy. It is only by serving their husbands that they can attain heaven.' ॥ 3-196-20 ॥
