उत्सादनार्थं लॊकानां धुन्धुर नाम महासुरः तपस्यति तपॊ घॊरं शृणु यस तं हनिष्यति ॥ ३-१९२-२६ ॥

sanskrit

'Even now, a great Asura named Dhundhu is undergoing fierce ascetic penances with the aim of destroying the triple world. Listen now to who will slay that Asura.' ॥ 3-192-26 ॥

english translation

utsAdanArthaM lòkAnAM dhundhura nAma mahAsuraH tapasyati tapò ghòraM zRNu yasa taM haniSyati ॥ 3-192-26 ॥

बृहदश्व इति खयातॊ भविष्यति महीपतिः तस्य पुत्रः शुचिर दान्तः कुवलाश्व इति शरुतः ॥ ३-१९२-२७ ॥

sanskrit

'O son, there will arise a king of invincible energy and great prowess, born in the Ikshvaku lineage. He will be known by the name of Brihadashva. He will have a son named Kuvalashva, endowed with great holiness, self-control, and renown.' ॥ 3-192-27 ॥

english translation

bRhadazva iti khayAtò bhaviSyati mahIpatiH tasya putraH zucira dAntaH kuvalAzva iti zarutaH ॥ 3-192-27 ॥

'And that best of kings, endowed with the yogic power derived from Me and urged and commended by you, O regenerate Rishi, will become the slayer of the Asura Dhundhu.' ॥ 3-192-28 ॥

sa yògabalama AsthAya mAmakaM pArthivòttamaH zAsanAta tava viprarSe dhundhumArò bhaviSyati ॥ 3-192-28 ॥
