किं वीर्या मानवास तत्र किमाहारविहारिणः किमायुषः किं वसना भविष्यन्ति युगक्षये ॥ ३-१८८-६ ॥

'What will be the prowess of men in that age, what their food, and what their amusements? What will be the span of life at the end of the Yuga?' ॥ 3-188-6 ॥

kiM vIryA mAnavAsa tatra kimAhAravihAriNaH kimAyuSaH kiM vasanA bhaviSyanti yugakSaye ॥ 3-188-6 ॥

कां च काष्ठां समासाद्य पुनः संपत्स्यते कृतम विस्तरेण मुने बरूहि विचित्राणीह भाषसे ॥ ३-१८८-७ ॥

'What is the limit, having attained which the Krita age will begin anew? Tell me all in detail, O Muni, for all that you narrate is varied and delightful.' ॥ 3-188-7 ॥

इत्य उक्तः स मुनिश्रेष्ठः पुनर एवाभ्यभाषत रमयन वृष्णिशार्दूलं पाण्डवांश च महामुनिः ॥ ३-१८८-८ ॥

'Thus addressed, the foremost of the Munis resumed his discourse, delighting the tiger of the Vrishni race and the sons of Pandu.' ॥ 3-188-8 ॥

[मार्क] भविष्यं सर्वलॊकस्य वृत्तान्तं भरतर्षभ कलुषं कालम आसाद्य कथ्यमानं निबॊध मे ॥ ३-१८८-९ ॥

'And Markandeya said, 'Listen, O monarch, to all that I have seen and heard, and to all that has been revealed to me by intuition, through the grace of the God of gods!' ॥ 3-188-9 ॥

कृते चतुष्पात सकलॊ निर्व्याजॊपाधि वर्जितः वृषः परतिष्ठितॊ धर्मॊ मनुष्येष्व अभवत पुरा ॥ ३-१८८-१० ॥

'In the Krita (Satya) Yuga, Dharma stood complete on four feet, free from all deceit and corruption. In those times, righteousness was fully established among humans.' ॥ 3-188-10 ॥

kRte catuSpAta sakalò nirvyAjòpAdhi varjitaH vRSaH paratiSThitò dharmò manuSyeSva abhavata purA ॥ 3-188-10 ॥
