[वै] तथा वदति वार्ष्णेये धर्मराजे व भारत अथ पश्चात पतॊ वृद्धॊ बहुवर्षसहस्रधृक परत्यदृष्यत धर्मात्मा मार्कण्डेयॊ महातपः ।। ३-१८०-३९ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, "O descendant of Bharata, while Krishna, the descendant of the Vrishnis, and the virtuous king were thus conversing, the sage Markandeya, aged and renowned for his austere penances, suddenly appeared before them."' ।। 3-180-39 ।।

english translation

[vai] tathA vadati vArSNeye dharmarAje va bhArata atha pazcAta patò vRddhò bahuvarSasahasradhRka paratyadRSyata dharmAtmA mArkaNDeyò mahAtapaH || 3-180-39 ||
