[वा] एवम उक्त्वा रौक्मिणेयॊ यादवान भरतर्षभ दंशितैर हरिभिर युक्तं रथम आस्थाय काञ्चनम ॥ ३-१८-१ ॥
'Vasudeva continued, 'O bull of the Bharata race, having thus spoken to the Yadavas, the son of Rukmini, Pradyumna, mounted his golden chariot.'' ॥ 3-18-1 ॥
english translation
उच्छ्रित्य मकरं केतुं वयात्ताननम अलंकृतम उत्पतद्भिर इवाकाशं तैर हयैर अन्वयात परान ॥ ३-१८-२ ॥
'This chariot, drawn by excellent steeds, was adorned with a standard bearing the fierce figure of a Makara, its mouth gaping like Yama's. With his swift steeds racing across the ground, he charged at the enemy.' ॥ 3-18-2 ॥

विक्षिपन नादयंश चापि धनुःश्रेष्ठं महाबलः तूणखड्गधरः शूरॊ बद्धगॊधाङ्गुलि तरवान ॥ ३-१८-३ ॥
'Armed with a quiver and sword, his fingers wrapped in leather, he drew his bow—radiant as lightning—with immense strength.' ॥ 3-18-3 ॥

स विद्युच्चलितं चापं विहरन वै तलात तलम मॊहयाम आस दैतेयान सर्वान सौभनिवासिनः ॥ ३-१८-४ ॥
'As if mocking the foe, he seamlessly switched his bow from hand to hand, spreading chaos among the Danavas and other warriors of Saubha's city.' ॥ 3-18-4 ॥

नास्य विक्षिपतश चापं संदधानस्य चासकृत अन्तरं ददृशे कश चिन निघ्नतः शात्रवान रणे ॥ ३-१८-५ ॥
'His relentless arrows fell upon the enemy in a continuous barrage, leaving no pause between successive shafts.' ॥ 3-18-5 ॥
