[सर्प] तिस्रॊ वै गतयॊ राजन परिदृष्टाः सवकर्मभिः मानुष्यं सवर्गवासश च तिर्यग्यॊनिश च तत तरिधा ॥ ३-१७८-९ ॥

'The serpent replied, "By his own actions, a man is seen to attain one of three states: the condition of human existence, the life of the heavens, or rebirth in the lower realms of the animal kingdom."' ॥ 3-178-9 ॥

[sarpa] tisrò vai gatayò rAjana paridRSTAH savakarmabhiH mAnuSyaM savargavAsaza ca tiryagyòniza ca tata taridhA ॥ 3-178-9 ॥
