बुद्धेर गुणविधिर नास्ति मनस तु गुणवद भवेत बुद्धिर उत्पद्यते कार्ये मनस तूत्पन्नम एव हि ॥ ३-१७८-२६ ॥

sanskrit

'The intellect is activated through acts of perception, while the mind is self-existent. The intellect does not produce sensations such as pain or pleasure; it is the mind that does so.' ।। 3-178-26 ।।

english translation

buddhera guNavidhira nAsti manasa tu guNavada bhaveta buddhira utpadyate kArye manasa tUtpannama eva hi ॥ 3-178-26 ॥
