[वै] तस्यां रजन्यां वयुष्टायां धर्मराजॊ युधिष्ठिरः उत्थायावश्य कार्याणि कृतवान भरतृभिः सह ।। ३-१७२-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana continued, "And when the night had passed, Yudhishthira the just arose and, together with his brothers, performed the required duties."' ।। 3-172-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] tasyAM rajanyAM vayuSTAyAM dharmarAjò yudhiSThiraH utthAyAvazya kAryANi kRtavAna bharatRbhiH saha || 3-172-1 ||

ततः संचॊदयाम आस सॊ ऽरजुनं भरातृनन्दनम दर्शयास्त्राणि कौन्तेय यैर जिता दानवास तवया ।। ३-१७२-२ ।।

sanskrit

'He then spoke to Arjuna, the joy of his mother, saying, "O Kaunteya, show me those weapons with which you vanquished the Danavas."' ।। 3-172-2 ।।

english translation

tataH saMcòdayAma Asa sò 'rajunaM bharAtRnandanama darzayAstrANi kaunteya yaira jitA dAnavAsa tavayA || 3-172-2 ||

hk transliteration

ततॊ धनंजयॊ राजन देवैर दत्तानि पाण्डवः अस्त्राणि तानि दिव्यानि दर्शयाम आस भारत ।। ३-१७२-३ ।।

sanskrit

'Thereupon, O King, the exceedingly powerful Dhananjaya, the son of Pandu, having practiced great purity, displayed those celestial weapons.' ।। 3-172-3 ।।

english translation

tatò dhanaMjayò rAjana devaira dattAni pANDavaH astrANi tAni divyAni darzayAma Asa bhArata || 3-172-3 ||

यथान्यायं महातेजा शौचं परमम आस्थितः गिरिकूबरं पादपाङ्गं शुभवेणुत्रिवेणुकम पार्थिवं रथम आस्थाय शॊभमानॊ धनंजयः ।। ३-१७२-४ ।।

sanskrit

'O Bharata, which had been bestowed upon him by the celestials, Dhananjaya, seated on the earth as his chariot, with the mountain as its pole, the axle's base, and a cluster of beautiful bamboo trees for its socket-pole, appeared resplendent in his celestial armor of great radiance.' ।। 3-172-4 ।।

english translation

yathAnyAyaM mahAtejA zaucaM paramama AsthitaH girikUbaraM pAdapAGgaM zubhaveNutriveNukama pArthivaM rathama AsthAya zòbhamAnò dhanaMjayaH || 3-172-4 ||

hk transliteration

ततः सुदंशितस तेन कवचेन सुवर्चसा धनुर आदाय गाण्डीवं देवदत्तं च वारिजम ।। ३-१७२-५ ।।

sanskrit

'Taking up his Gandiva bow and the conch-shell granted to him by the gods, he began to display those celestial weapons in succession.' ।। 3-172-5 ।।

tataH sudaMzitasa tena kavacena suvarcasA dhanura AdAya gANDIvaM devadattaM ca vArijama || 3-172-5 ||
