ततः संहृत्य मुष्टिं तु पञ्चशीर्षम इवॊरगम वेगेनाभ्यहनद भीमॊ राक्षसस्य शिरॊधराम ॥ ३-१५४-५६ ॥
'At last, clenched like the head of a five-headed serpent, Bhima struck the Rakshasa's neck with tremendous force.' ॥ 3-154-56 ॥

ततः शरान्तं तु तद रक्षॊ भीमसेन भुजाहतम सुपरिश्रान्तम आलक्ष्य भीमसेनॊ ऽभयवर्तत ॥ ३-१५४-५७ ॥
'Struck by Bhima's fist, the Rakshasa grew faint, and Bhimasena stood over him, seizing the exhausted foe.' ॥ 3-154-57 ॥

तत एनं महाबाहुर बाहुभ्याम अमरॊपमः समुत्क्षिप्य बलाद भीमॊ निष्पिपेष महीतले ॥ ३-१५४-५८ ॥
'And then the god-like mighty-armed Bhima lifted him with his two arms, and dashing him with force on the ground, the son of Pandu smashed all his limbs.' ॥ 3-154-58 ॥

तस्य गात्राणि सर्वाणि चूर्णयाम आस पाण्डवः अरत्निना चाभिहत्य शिरॊ कायाद अहाहरत ॥ ३-१५४-५९ ॥
'The Pandava crushed all of his limbs, and with his jewel-less mace, he struck his head and took it away from the body.' ॥ 3-154-59 ॥

संदष्टौष्ठं विवृत्ताक्षं फलं वृन्ताद इव चयुतम जटासुरस्य तु शिरॊ भीमसेनबलाद धृतम पपात रुधिरादिग्धं संदष्ट दशनछदम ॥ ३-१५४-६० ॥
'Striking him with his elbow, Bhimasena severed the head of Jatasura, whose lips were bitten and eyes rolled in agony, like a fruit falling from its stem. The severed head, drenched in blood and smeared with gore, fell to the ground, with the marks of its own bite still visible.' ॥ 3-154-60 ॥
