नातिदूरे महाबाहुर भविता पवनात्मजः अस्मिन मुहूर्ते संप्राप्ते न भविष्यति राक्षसः ॥ ३-१५४-२१ ॥
'The mighty-armed son of the Wind-god may not be far away; and when Bhima arrives in the next moment, the Rakshasa will not survive.' ॥ 3-154-21 ॥
english translation
सहदेवस तु तं दृष्ट्वा राक्षसं मूढचेतसम उवाच वचनं राजन कुन्तीपुत्रम्युधिष्ठिरम ॥ ३-१५४-२२ ॥
'Seeing that Rakshasa of foolish mind, Sahadeva addressed King Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, with the following words:' ॥ 3-154-22 ॥
english translation
राजन किंनाम तत कृत्यं कषत्रियस्यास्त्य अतॊ ऽधिकम यद युद्धे ऽभिमुखः पराणांस तयजेच छत्रूञ जयेत वा ॥ ३-१५४-२३ ॥
'O King, observing the senseless Rakshasa, Sahadeva spoke to Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, saying, "What greater merit can there be for a Kshatriya than to either fall in battle or vanquish his foe?"' ॥ 3-154-23 ॥
english translation
एष चास्मान वयं चैनं युध्यमानाः परंतप सूदयेम महाबाहॊ देशकालॊ हय अयं नृप ॥ ३-१५४-२४ ॥
'O repressor of foes, we shall engage in battle, and either this one will slay us, or we shall slay him, O mighty-armed one. Truly, this is the place and the time.' ॥ 3-154-24 ॥
english translation
कषत्रधर्मस्य संप्राप्तः कालः सत्यपराक्रम जयन्तः पात्यमाना वा पराप्तुम अर्हाम सद गतिम ॥ ३-१५४-२५ ॥
'O king, O mighty one, the time has come for us to uphold our Kshatriya duty. It is fitting that we attain heaven, whether by victory or by falling in battle.' ॥ 3-154-25 ॥
