आचार संभवॊ धर्मॊ धर्माद वेदाः समुत्थिताः वेदैर यज्ञाः समुत्पन्ना यज्ञैर देवाः परतिष्ठिताः ॥ ३-१४९-२८ ॥
'From religious observances arises merit, and from merit the Vedas are established. The Vedas give rise to sacrifices, and through sacrifices the gods are upheld.' ॥ 3-149-28 ॥
